Individual Note:
Ambrose received his B.A. at Christ College, Cambridge
University, in 1608 (the year of the founding of Quebec by Cham-
plain), and his M.A. in 1612 (only one year after the completion
of the translation of the Bible, "the King James Version," and one
year before the first trading-post was established on the Island of
Manhattan at the mouth of the Hudson). In 1616 he was ordained
Priest in London. On June 16,1619 (the year of the arrival of the
first negro slaves at Jamestown, Va.), he was instituted as Rector
of the Parish of Raunds in Northamptonshire, King James being
the Patron of the Living. He remained in London until 1623,about the time of the death of his father, died intestate five
years later, and when his estate was administered he was called
"of the Parish of Carlton" in Northamptonshire.

Individual Note:
Francis, the fifth son, seems to have left no male heirs. Three
daughters were baptized in Great Bowden. He was afterwards
of the Parish of Gumley in Leicestershire, where no further
search has been made.

Note for:   Nathaniel FISH,   27 NOV 1648 - AFT 1722         Index

Alias:   /Nathan/

Individual Note:
Lester Fish in his book also has this Nathaniel listed on page 344 and also has another Nathaniel with the same birth date listed as a son of Nathaniel B 1618 brother of john. I guess the two brothers could have had a child on the same date but doubt it. Under the one ofr Nathaniel Lester has a note saying that "nothing further is known of him" leading me to believe that is because it is a duplicate that he did not catch.

Found this but have not verified it- if accurate places death after 1722. Location of being in Falmouth makes sense as there is no record of his death in the Sandwich vitals

Note from JR Fisher- this is Watson T 1829 living with Wife Elizabeth and her parents- She is 17 here, married in 1849 at age 16 from Sandwich VR-

Individual Note:
     Watson T. Fisher is our great-great grandfater thru dad -Watson T. Fisher 1887 -Walter H Fish(er) 1852 - Watson T. Fish(er) 1829.
His father was most likely Thomas D. Fish
Interesting thing here is we finally have a mariner on the Fisher side. Watson T. Fish(er) 1829 was listed in the Sandwich Vital Records and the US census as a "mariner". In that time it was most likely a fisherman but could also have been a schooner captain doing trade runs to the caribbean or Europe. Hopefully some research on a trip to Sandwich might she some light on that.
Anyway, his wife that we are decended from was Elizabeth Fish (she was decended from Nathaniel Fish) and Watson probably from a Thomas Fish that went to RI around 1650 after the 3 brothers settled Sandwich. So some gene pool shallowness but they were separated by 5 generations so not that bad.
Elizabeth died 1857 in sandwich and Watson T. Fish(er) remarried Hannah Smith in 1858 and had several more children. They were in Sandwich for the 1870 census but had moved the Almeda California by the 1880 census (not easy move back then but get this- I was poking around a barn in an antique house a few weeks ago and there were all these old newpapers glued to the walls and ceiling (rough insulation I guess) and lo and behold I found an add for a train trip from Boston the San Fransico I'm going to go back and ask the owners if I can take a photo of that one.
So....his job title in the census was "Engineer, US Mint". Not sure how he got that one but he went from a mariner to an engineer at the US mint in San Fran.
Now I loose him. The 1890 census was lost in a fire in Washington DC so that's a gap for all genealogy research. I found 2 of his 3 kids that went with him in the 1900 census but not Watson and Hannah. Not to unusual as people are missed in Census all the time (I've never been counted as far I as know) but then they are not to be found in the 1910, 1920, 1930 census either.
So here's my potential theory- Almeda is right outside of San Fran. If he was an engineer at the mint (which was/is) located right in downtown SF it would have made sense for them to live closer. In 1906 was the Great Earthquake of SF which basically destroyed the city. If they were both still alive this must have affected them greatly if they survived it.
I did find all 3 of their kids living in other areas in the 1910 census so they survived and moved away. No sign of Watson or Hannah so far.
Only about 700 names are documented as having been killed in the quake and fires but estimates are that over 3000 perished.
